FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This is part of an occasional series by the Sanpete Country Travel and Utah Heritage Highway 89 Alliance on the people and places along U.S. Highway 89.

Juilliard School of Music Coming to Sanpete County.

Aspiring jazz musicians will have a chance to hone their skills with experts from the Juilliard School of Music during a special workshop at Sanpete County’s Snow College in July.

The Juilliard School of Music’s Jazz Faculty and the Horne School of Music are collaborating on a rhythm section workshop that will be held on the Snow College campus in Ephraim July 21-23.

The workshop will give students the opportunity to dramatically improve their talent by intensely focussing on the key issues of the jazz rhythm section. It will also prepare students for a future in music by teaching them essential skills and giving them the opportunity to meet people that have already succeeded in the music business.

People interested in participating in the workshop must submit a recording to be considered for acceptance. Music educators are also being admitted to the conference as observers, but there is limited space.

Details about the application process and workshop are available on the Snow College website, http://www.snow.edu/ . For additional information, phone (435) 283-7388.
